FAQ'S:

When do you show films?

We screen film's through the winter / spring months, usually monthly from October through to April.

What makes Slindon Cinema Special?

We are one of the last cinemas in the world to screen only 35mm film and 16mm film prints, not through digital projection which the majority of cinemas globally have used to show films since around 2012.

Slindon Cinema was setup with a goal to bring back the magic of the silver screen, and the community that seeing a film in a cinema used to represent.

Why Film?

At Slindon Cinema, we believe in the beauty, skill and showmanship that screening film's on true celluloid film allows - From the projectionists preparing film ready to run through the projector, to the stories of how these often original film prints survived 50+ years to now being screened in front of you.

Seeing a film properly screened on celluloid, remains one of the best ways to see a motion picture in it's intended format, and although there are only a handful of cinemas screening film around the world, we stand proud to keep our projectors running well into the digital age.

Where do you get your film prints from? â€‹

We are fortunate to have a network of film distributors, collectors and studios who hold the prints and film rights that we rent for our screenings.

Why don't you run a normal cinema programme?

We screen films monthly through the winter and spring months due to the daylight hours that our 1930's hall with large windows permits us to get a clear and bright picture on the screen.

Phone usage?

We kindly ask you please turn your phone off and refrain from checking it for the duration of the films performance. The light may be dim to you, but it is distracting to others so please keep it in your pocket. Twitter will still be there when the film has finished. Promise.

We want to keep our screens a 100% phone-free environment once the film has started, so if we catch you using your phone, you will be politely asked to put it away. If you’re a repeat offender you may be asked to leave the screen.

Respect your fellow cinema goers...

We ask that you refrain from talking, using your phone, rustling through bags or doing anything which may cause a disturbance to those around you. Once the performance has started our ushers may kindly ask you to put your phone away or stop talking.

We all want to have the best possible experience when visiting the cinema, so we all need to play our part in making that happen.

If there is any issue in the screen which is impeding on your experience, please speak to an Usher or the Manager who will be able to assist.

Do I need to book in advance, or can I book on the door?

We recommend booking online prior to the screening as we may have to turn you away if the show has show has sold out.

Can I book specific seats?

As our seating is unallocated, it is a "first come first serve basis", so we strongly advise arriving 15-20 minutes early to the 7:00pm start time to ensure you get your desired seats. â€‹

Can I bring my baby?

Due to the nature of our sound system and the sometimes older film prints, the sound can be quite hard on little ears. So we generally advise parents to bear this in mind when looking to attend with babies or infants.

Can I get a refund?

Please email slindoncinema@gmail.com so we can process your refund, which will be the ticket price minus the online booking fee, which is non refundable.

We no longer accept cash payments for the Bar, ticket desk or confectionary, so please bear this in mind when you bring along a pocket full of shrapnel for the popcorn!
